Saxony-Anhalt represented at Gamescom

 

It’s game time again:

Yesterday, on the 20th of August, the annual occurring fair “Gamescom” starts again. At the world’s largest computer and video games fair, which will be held in the exhibition halls in Cologne, more than 1,200 exhibitors will present their latest achievements. Over four days AR clouds, 3D glasses and live avatars will be introduced to the wide audience. Furthermore, visitors will be informed about the current digital trends in the entertainment industry.

Also, from Monday to Sunday numerous events are planned in the exhibition area, which is as large as 30 soccer fields. The comprehensive show program ranges from youth forums and eSports tournaments to digital workshops and thus entertains young and old. Even international heavyweights such as Bethesda, Electronic Arts (EA) and Google will provide a great atmosphere with exciting events.

Besides this extensive framework program, also the regionality and the educational component will not be neglected. Under the motto “Made in Germany Area” the individual German states will introduce themselves. In Hall 4, where global players such as Nintendo and Microsoft will present their latest achievements, Saxony-Anhalt will also be represented with its booth (B41/C44) with information about the latest developments and further opportunities in the field of education.

At this booth, local companies of the gaming industry will have the opportunity to present their ideas to the general public. Since Augmented Reality also has an increasing influence on the gaming industry, we as 3DQR will also be represented at this booth.

As one if Germany’s fastest-growing AR company in the education sector, we will be presenting our latest education project at Gamescom. Together with our cooperation partner, the DIHK, we have created a new way of knowledge transfer and thus revolutionized the technical training using AR. Interested visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to gain a first insight into this unique form of learning. Original teaching materials are linked with digital content and projected into real training material using 3D models. Finally, interactive quizzes will further facilitate learning.
