Use Cases

Represent and simulate scenarios
of any size with AR (DB use case)

To make personnel training modern and innovative, the goal was to enable apprentices to have more autonomy in the training control center. Thanks to Augmented Reality, apprentices can explore the control center freely with audiovisual explanations, without having to wait for an instructor’s availability. Additionally, there are Augmented Reality scenes that present miniaturized situations at railway crossings and signals in a three-dimensional and interactive way.
In collaboration with DIHK, 3DQR has augmented textbooks with Augmented Reality to make theory more engaging in various vocational training programs through AR animations and AR storytelling. Mechanical production processes that occur within a machine are difficult to understand solely through a textbook but can be visually demonstrated step by step with AR. Training can then be continued with AR at the machine.

Powerful AR features:

Transform vocational education and staff development

.

3DQR-Studio

The 3DQR Studio is a web-based platform for easy creation, management and customisation of AR content. Users can upload diverse content such as text, images, videos, audio, PDFs and various 3D model formats. The studio also supports Unity asset bundles and enables web integrations and IoT data retrieval. The 3DQR Studio generates QR codes that serve as anchors for AR scenes, making the solution easy to use and reusable.

In-App-Creator

The in-app creator is a powerful and user-friendly feature within the 3DQR Plus app that allows augmented reality (AR) scenes to be created and customised directly on a smartphone or tablet. Through intuitive touch gestures and movements, users can easily position, scale and rotate content in the AR scene without the need for prior knowledge of programming or complex 3D software.

Learning-Hub

The 3DQR Learning Hub is a comprehensive online learning platform specifically designed to help users learn and use 3DQR augmented reality (AR) software solutions. The platform offers a wide range of courses, lessons and interactive tutorials covering all aspects of the 3DQR software suite, from creating and managing AR scenes in the 3DQR Studio to using the in-app creator on mobile devices.

Frequently asked questions about
Augmented Reality in training and education

Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that enhances the real world with digital information and simulations. Imagine looking through a pane of glass with additional information written on it. Like a map over which you place a transparent sheet of markers, AR overlays digital information on top of the real world to give you more context and understanding. Augmented reality can also allow you to interact with virtual objects that appear to exist in the real world and that you can control with your hands or other devices. AR is able to augment the world we see to enhance our experiences and expand our capabilities.
Augmented reality can improve the efficiency of your training processes by saving time and costs. It enables interactive and vivid training that keeps students’ attention and increases recall of the content learned. It also allows for customisation of training to each employee’s pace and learning style, as well as augmenting training materials at a lower cost instead of using expensive physical models. Augmented Reality stellt eine Evolution der traditionellen Schulungsmethoden dar und bietet die Möglichkeit, Schulungen auf eine effektivere und effizientere Weise durchzuführen.
There are several ways you can simplify and improve training processes for older employees:
  • Use easily understandable language and clear instructions: older employees may have difficulty understanding and processing complex information.
  • Use a combination of training methods: older employees can benefit from visual and auditory training, as well as hands-on exercises.
  • Consider individual learning needs: older employees may have different learning styles and needs, consider this in training planning.
  • Create a supportive environment: older employees may feel insecure when learning something new, create a supportive and positive learning environment.
  • Use Augmented Reality training: this technology can make the training more interactive, individual and exciting.

There are several steps you can take to ensure that your training achieves the desired success:

  1. Define goals: determine in advance what results you expect from the training, this allows you to tailor the training to the needs of the participants and measure success.
  2. Select relevant content: Make sure that the training content is relevant to the needs of the participants and helps them achieve their goals.
  3. Choose a suitable training method: Use a training method that is suitable for the target group and the content, this increases the effectiveness of the training.
  4. Interactive training: Trainings where participants are actively involved increase attention and motivation.
  5. Gather feedback: Ask for feedback from participants to find out what worked well and what can be improved.
Augmented Reality can improve your training materials by integrating interactive and vivid content like 3D models, immersive training scenarios into QR codes. This technology allows for location-independent and consistent training, as well as tracking learning progress and providing individual feedback. An example of this would be the use of QR codes or markers to provide interactive instructions directly on the machine.

With Augmented Reality, you can reduce your training costs by using digital training materials instead of expensive physical models that can be updated anytime and anywhere. It also saves transportation costs as no materials need to be shipped.

One way to reduce risks in training processes is to conduct trainings using Augmented Reality (AR). AR enables interactive job instructions that can be accessed at the machine at any time. New employees can thus review the most important instructions before using a machine, without the need for a trainer to be on-site. This can minimize the likelihood of errors in task execution. The use of virtual simulations and digital training materials instead of expensive physical models can also help to reduce risks.
One way to increase the motivation of your employees during training is to use Augmented Reality from 3DQR, to enable trainees to create their own AR scenes on the machines. This allows them to demonstrate their acquired knowledge in a vivid way and showcase their skills. It gives the trainees the opportunity to actively participate in the learning process and gives them a sense of ownership and success.
